The reason for the construction of the Jahaz Mahal was to accommodate those who came from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Arab Turkey to visit Muslim communities. Moreover, Akbar Shah II and Bahadur Shah II built it for their families to avoid heat and dust during the summer months.
